Blogs are great tools to use for communication purposes both for students but also for your parents and the global community.

An excellent example of how schools are using blogs can be found at Georgetown Elementary in Michigan. This elementary school is a K - 5 school and each teacher has his or her own blog. You can get ideas from this blog and follow along as their school year unfolds.

While at first glance this blog appears to be for high school teachers, Peter Pappas' Copy/Pasteis an interesting blog that discusses motivation, starting the school year in a different way, ways to start your own books (his wife creates and markets her own booksfor emergent readers on the web.)
